Specialising in operational improvement for utilities and infrastructure companies, this consultancy was on an upwards trajectory. But as their client base grew, so did the challenge of scaling their team.
Previous hires hadn’t hit the mark. And while technically competent, they often lacked the adaptability, strategic thinking, or cultural fit needed to thrive in a complex consulting environment. This led to inconsistent performance and growing pressure on the core team.
Solution
To solve the hiring challenge, we partnered closely with the business founders to design and manage an end-to-end recruitment process that would surface consulting potential.
We began by building out their employer value proposition, highlighting the benefits and growth opportunities for candidates.
To add to our recruitment process, we used our Clevry platform to deliver targeted online psychometric assessments. These took less than an hour for candidates to complete but provided rich, multi-dimensional insight into each person.
A bespoke assessment day enabled the team to gain clearer insight into candidates’ performance under pressure and allowed them to assess both mindset and fit. We took the psychometric insights and created targeted behavioural interview questions, which allowed deeper exploration into how candidates might perform in the real-world complexity of the consulting role.
